Matt Hugo meldt: To quote the internal ECMWF site in terms of the ECMWF 32 day data regarding the MJO;

"The Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) is the main source of predictability on the monthly time scale"

Perhaps this could be argued, but as ever I can see the reasoning behind this and the MJO data as part of the ECMWF 32 day model is particularly important
